Bolden & Long boasts two experienced partners who are able to draw upon
a wide range of accountancy skills in their dealings with client financial matters.
The firm also employs a dedicated bookkeeper and payroll administrator as
well as a number of accounts assistants training towards full AAT and ACCA qualifications
as Bolden & Long is an approved training practice.
Accounts Preparation
Bolden & Long represent over 100 small and medium sized businesses and limited
companies in a wide range of industries including hotels and public houses;

Company Audits
If a limited company's turnover exceeds £1,000,000 or as part of a group
exceeds £300,000, there is a statutory requirement to partake in a company
audit. As registered auditors we act for several such companies maintaining
the principles of independence and confidentiality. All audit work is conducted
with integrity meaning fair dealing, truthfulness and the desire to follow and
maintain high standards of professional practice.
Self Assessment Tax Returns
Over 150 clients trust us to complete the ever complicated tax returns and liase
with the Inland Revenue dealing with all taxation matters and correspondance.
The senior partner specialises in this area and can provide excellent service
and advice. Bolden & Long, through relations with Standard Life, are able
to provide insurance cover against costly tax investigations introduced as part
of the self assesment regime. Such enquiries have increased significantly and
our insurance policy is able to provide a safeguard against the random nature
of tax investigations by reimbursing the fees incurred through legal and professional
services.
Bookkeeping
Following the growing demand for bookkeeping services, Bolden & Long set
up a cost-effective and professional bookkeeping department to cater for clients
needs. Through the use of Sage Line 50, this department deals with quarterly
VAT returns, management accounts, and standard bookkeeping tasks.
As Sage resellers, we are able to offer clients opportunities to purchase discounted Sage software and provide support in the implementation and maintainence of a bookkeeping system at the clients' premises. Links with the client are maintained after the implementation of such systems and can produce a strong business relationship with Bolden & Long.
Payroll
Many of our clients request a payroll facility which we are happy to provide
through the use of Sage Payroll Professional. Bolden & Long process wages
and salaries on a weekly and monthly basis both in advance and arrears. Client
relations are particularly important in this area and has resulted in increased
confidence in Bolden & Long's friendly, confidential and professional service.
Company Formations
Bolden & Long has much experience in the formation of limited companies
and is able to provide a quick and easy comany formation solution including
a 24 hour setup subject to company name availability. This package includes
memorandum and articles of association, register of applications and allotments,
register of transfers, register of members, register of directors, register
of secretaries, register of directors' interests, register of mortgages and
charges, register of sealings and documents executed, register of minutes, blank
share certificates and company seal. Bolden & Long then maintains these
registers and handles all subsequent queries, changes and form filing. We can
also act as the registered office if requested.
Business Startups
When starting up a new business as a sole trader or partnership, there are a
number of procedures that all new businesses have to follow. Bolden & Long
can deal with all correspondance with the Inland Revenue regarding such matters.
Other startup procedues may include registering for VAT with customs and excise,
PAYE registration for employers and CIS registration for contractors and subcontractors.
